Each year the residents of Sabetha and the surrounding communities are able to demonstrate their tremendous generosity through the Give to Grow Match Day. This year, for the first time ever, Sabetha Community Hospital is asking for your help. On September 11, 2023, plans for a major renovation and expansion of the hospital were unveiled. These plans expand on the hopes that were first outlined in 2001 when the current inpatient facility was designed. At that time, it was apparent that the long-term future of healthcare would require even more of an investment when the time was right. We feel that that time is now. The 1910 structure currently housing many of the medical system’s outpatient departments are no longer suitable in size or nor does they provide efficiency to meet the needs of the patients currently being served.

The Sabetha Community Hospital Board of Directors has endorsed a very ambitious plan to bring the facilities up to date and be poised to expand medical services. Additionally, bringing the Sabetha Family Practice onto the main campus will allow patients and families to be served under one roof. Plans for expansion of the surgical suites will allow the hospital to perform additional procedures locally, keeping the most vulnerable patients close to their families, where they need to be. The funding for this project will be split between a USDA loan and local contributions. Our goal is to raise $8 million locally to be able to finish the project which will include a daycare center and a mental health center. A lofty goal for sure, but our team believes that the community will invest in one of the strong pillars we have enjoyed for many years, a strong healthcare system.
